Christmas Rocks!

Christmas Rocks!

The year has passed so fast. Were did it all go? We bring to remembrance how wonderful life, love, family, and friends are; and cherish every tender moment as it comes and goes. Even if you are out of sight this year, you are in our thoughts and prayers. We have been a busy family. Dustin who is know 11 years old is doing well in his first year in Middle School. He was a little nervous about starting (mom was more nervous)but after the first day he said he really liked school. His grades are going great. I couldn't be more proud of him for studying hard. He is playing Hockey and basketball at the present time. He likes Hockey more this year since he can body check players now, he likes that physical contact up against the wall. Ha Ha! Rebbecca who is 8 years old, is in the third grade this year and doing well, she likes her teacher and is trying hard to read the library out of books. She is playing basketball this winter and waiting to play softball in the spring. Cody who turned 6 years old in October is still the character of the family. He has many first this year. He started kindergarten this year and loving it. He has a wonderful teacher. He is also playing basketball for the first time. He loves to get out there and score a goal. Well Kevin finally left Hardee's after 27 years and went to Walmart to become a manager in the bakery and the fresh foods. He loves the less stress and not so long hours. I also left my job as a preschool teacher after 16 years of teaching 4 and 5 year old. I am now currently substitute teaching and volunteering at the elementary school so I can continue to be with my kids and get them to all of their sports. We hope everyone has had a productive year like we have and we pray you will enjoy "the promise of the future and the blessing of today" and be thankful as we are of the great life we have been blessed with. Hopefully, our paths will cross again in the future, and our life be richer and better because of family and friends like you all. May there be many blessings for you and yours in the coming year and our sincere wishes for a Happy Holiday.

The Sharp Family

Christmas gifts

I have been very busy in the past few weeks. I have been making Little Windows Necklaces for family and friends. I got the idea from my aunts friend whom gave me the website. I got online and order a few supplies and got started making them. I love these and have been playing with them in lots of different shapes and sizes and even with charms and beads. As you can see they are different. I had a lady in the department store while shopping ask me about them. I hope my friends and family enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed making them for them. Merry Christmas!

Divide and Concer

ROLL TIDE!!!!!
I used to be the black sheep of the family and be the only one that was for Alabama. Well as years have passed and I have had children I have more fans with me. These two cousins could really care less which team won or lost, but it made a cute picture of the two side by side in the war of which team is the best team of all. Well last weekend we found out. The other team didn't even show up for the game. We will continue to take pictures of the two cousins that will always divide and concer!

Crazy Dreams

Okay I have a friend, yeah I know its hard to believe (only if she clams me as one HA!). she tends to have these wild and crazy dreams about people. She has dreamed the I was cooking Clam chowder (when I don't even like sea food), she thought I was dead ( I had something to do with that dream), she even dreamed that my father was a priest. Well he may be know up in heaven, but while he was here that would have been a very big laughing matter. I do tell her to stop eating or drinking what ever it is she does before bed, but them again they make for a great page in my scrapbook. Thanks B for being such a great friend and putting up with me.

Four Jacks

After going to Tate Farms we came home and carved these lovely Jack-o-lanterns! Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

Fall like I said is my favorite time of the year. We always go every year to Tate Farms Cotton Pickin Pumpkin Patch. We normally have one child that goes on a field trip and we also make a special trip with some close friends. I had made pumpkin shirts for my kids classrooms and had several left over, so they all wore the same shirts. They looked cute! We love going through the patch to just find the right pumpkin, so we can bring it home and carve it. It is so hard to pick the right one with so many pumpkins to choose from. We will continue to go every year till they tell me they are tired of going.

Fall Pictures

These are pictures that I took in October on the way and at Falls Mill. Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love the colors, the open windows, and the cool breeze. I used my monthly challenge paper from November that turned out great! Thanks WH! I Also love taking pictures of all the fall colors so I got a little carried away, but I only put a few on the blog. I even got a great picture of me and the kids. I am always behind the camera, so this time I got in front of the camera. Yes kids you do have a mom! Have a Happy Autumn.

In Honor Of Vetern's Day November 11, 2008

In honor of my grandfather and the rest of the heroes who serve our country. I am rememering this Vetern's Day 2008 a man that I looked up to and miss very much. It has been 8 years since he has passed and think of him often. My daughter carries his name as her middle name even though she has no idea whom he was. After he passed we had to move my grandmother to Assisted living and while we were cleaning out her closets we came accross an old Christmas card box that was filled with a wonderful surprise. We had a box full of pictures from 1949 when my grandfather was in the Navy. His name was Aubrey Thomas Greer and was aboard the USS LST846 and was sent off May 1049. He has pictures of the ship and ship mates and even the war going on itself. I being a scrapboker has gotten the privilege of putting these pictures into an album to keep them preserved. I hope I can come across in my research some of his shipmates that are still alive that can enlighten me on what some of these pictures are of. He didn't write much on the photos, but I do have some that he has written on that I can go by in research. I as well as my family will always be thankful of the men and women that serve out country. Thank you and God Bless!

November 9 2008 Falls Mill

We drove to Belvidere Tennessee to see Falls Mill which was completed in 1873. It replaced an older cotton spinning factory built there in 1840. They spun cotton into thread and carded wool here until about 1906 using water power. We loved going in the spring to see the green trees and we went today to see the leaves on the trees as they have all changed a beautiful color this year. My youngest child (Cody 6) has been asking my mother-in-law and me numerous times when we are going back so finally we did it. My mother-in-law and I drove my three kids over and stopped along the way to take pictures of the trees and old barns. I know we looked funny stopping on the side of the road and getting out of the car to take pictures. I think the kids were more imbarresed that we were. You gotta go to the pictures to make great shots. Hope you enjoy the photos!
